Business owners and operators can channel their inner zen and offer well-being events and experiences when WellFest Adelaide returns to the city this October.
WellFest Adelaide, which stems from the Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA)’s vision to be a global well-being destination, will turn the CBD and North Adelaide into a hub for physical and mental health.
The festival intersects wellbeing, innovation and tourism to foster a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic city experience that offers locally run activations for visitors and the community to enjoy.
AEDA Managing Director Ian Hill said the festival was born from the acknowledgement that well-being and wellness are at the forefront for businesses and individuals.
“The objective for this festival is to lead wellbeing in Australia,” Ian said.
"Our aspiration is for WellFest Adelaide to be is another jewel in the crown of South Australia’s world class suite of festivals and a global destination in wellness tourism.
“It is another jewel in the crown of South Australia’s world-class suite of festivals and a global destination in wellness tourism."
WellFest Adelaide aims to showcase experiences related to better health, fitness, nutrition, appearance, sleep and mindfulness.
City businesses, including retailers, accommodation providers, fitness studios, galleries, food experiences or other wellness-related sectors, can deliver wellness activations, events or experiences.
They must all support physical, mental and/or social wellbeing, and can be free or ticketed.
Examples of events include talks, demonstrations, courses, workshops or well-being-related packages.
“Globally, wellbeing is a $1.5 trillion industry, which has been increasing five to 10 per cent annually,” Ian says.
"AEDA is really looking at using this event as a platform to further stimulate Adelaide’s thriving visitor economy by encouraging visitation and economic activity.
