Boost the City Economy with up to $330k in Funding

Contribute to the city's economic landscape with a grant from AEDA's Strategic Partnership Program: City Building Stream. Secure up to $330,000 (plus GST), per recipient, per year, for projects and initiatives that boost economic growth and drive impact. Applications close on Thursday, 28 November, 2024.

Master Lease Negotiation

Learn how to cut through business and legal jargon associated with tying down the tenancy of your dreams by attending Renew Adelaide and Small Business Commissioner SA's Commerical Leasing 101 event tonight. The event, open to small businesses or entrepreneurs in any industry, will arm participants with the skills required to negotiate a commercial lease.

Family Business Assistance

Improve business operations for generations to come with the Family Business Association's Legal Considerations in Family Business course on Thursday, 24 October. This course, in person and online, will help participants understand the legal responsibilities associated with a family business, and key areas of personal and commercial risk.

Sustainability on the Cards at Next Instalment of Data4Lunch

AEDA's popular Data4Lunch event returns to the city next month, filled with facts and figures about sustainable business practices. Industry experts, including City of Adelaide Low Carbon and Circular Economy Manager David Bills and JLL Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets SA Ben Parkinson, will dive into sustainable business practices, ESG compliance, and cost-saving opportunities to better help and inform business decisions.

Driving Economic Growth

Fresh energy and opportunities have sprung into the city's bustling business scene thanks to Renew Adelaide, coupled with support of AEDA. Since 2022, the not-for-profit has assisted more than 40 emerging businesses through its innovative rent-free program.

ThincSeed Pitch Night

Hear innovators showcase their business proposal to prospective customers, partners and investors at the ThincSeed Pitch Night on Wednesday, 13 November. Participants are part of the ThincSeed Accelerator program, which is supported by AEDA.

Chihuly in the Botanic Garden Shatters Attendance Records

The Chihuly exhibition has smashed Adelaide Botanic Garden attendance records, as local traders involved in the Adelaide Celebrates Glass City Trail reap the rewards of increased foot traffic. The Adelaide Celebrates Glass trail features more than 15 retail, education, hospitality and tourism operators offering Chihuly-inspired experiences.

Art Prize Applications Open

Contemporary Australian artists under 40 years old can apply for the 2025 Ramsay Art Prize. The winner of the prestigious award receives $100,000, with their work acquired into the Art Gallery of South Australia’s collection. Entries close on 13 December.

50 Years on Leigh Street

Alec Mastrangelo is an icon of Adelaide's West End, wielding scissors and stories with equal skill. His beloved barbershop—Alec’s Hairdresser and Stylist— is a local institution, with October 2024 marking five decades at his Leigh Street business.
