Record high ticket sales for Adelaide Fringe, as AEDA continues to support city events and festivals
The Adelaide Fringe has sold more than one million tickets for the third year in a row, with new figures showing a 2.5 per cent increase on 2024 numbers.
According to the Adelaide Fringe there were 1,066,515 tickets sold this year, a record number, while the total paid directly to artists and venues from the box office reached $26.7 million.
The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) provided the Adelaide Fringe $300,000 in funding each year over the past three years through its Events and Festivals Sponsorship Program. It also provides sponsorship to festival hubs Gluttony, The Garden of Unearthly Delights and Fool’s Paradise.
Adelaide Fringe Director and Chief Executive Heather Croall says the festival drove tourism, with 60,500 national and international visitors attending the festival.
“We are thrilled to have seen so many people from around Australia and the world embracing Fringe again this year,” Ms Croall says.
“The impact goes far beyond ticket sales—it’s about artists making income, venues thriving, and communities coming together.
“Fringe has once again proven to be not just a celebration of creativity, but a vital part of South Australia’s cultural and economic landscape.”
AEDA continues to support events and festivals across the CBD and North Adelaide, with applications for the Events and Festivals Sponsorship Program now open.
Not-for-profit organisations can apply for AEDA funding to assist in the staging of medium and major public facing events held within the city boundary between 1 July 2025 and 30 July 2028.
The Program aims to support events that contribute to a vibrant and dynamic city experience, drive visitation and spend, and support local businesses.
Funding may be provided for up to three years.
Applications close 12am ACST Monday, 21 April 2025. More information here.
