After significant stakeholder engagement and planning over the past 18 months, we are pleased to advise the new Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) commenced operating 18 January 2021.

The City of Adelaide recognised the importance of the need to accelerate economic growth in the city, and as part of its 2020-2024 Strategic Plan, sought to design and implement a new city-wide business model. This has led to the creation of AEDA.

AEDA has been established as a subsidiary of the City of Adelaide under Section 42 of the Local Government Act 1999 (SA).

AEDA will work closely with businesses, industry groups, state government agencies and other relevant organisations to deliver a range of programs designed to stimulate the city’s economic growth with a focus on investment attraction, growing our visitor economy, residential growth, marketing the city as a whole and promoting Rundle Mall as Adelaide’s premier shopping destination.

The AEDA Board is skills-based, including expertise around hospitality, property development, place making, business development, investment, events and tourism. It also included the Lord Mayor of Adelaide Sandy Verschoor.

We will soon be launching our website, social media channels and starting conversations with key stakeholders to kick off a fresh approach to growing our city. For now though, please visit the City of Adelaide website to view the AEDA Charter.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you on this journey. If you would like to make a time to meet with us please contact Georgie Clarke, Executive Assistant 8203 7818 or email
