More Days, More Style, More Impact: ADL Fashion Week Announced for this October

ADL Fashion Week will strut back into the city and North Adelaide from 8–12 October, with an extended event duration off the back of consumer demand.

The festival, presented by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA), enters a bold new era with a five-day program, up from three days since its inception in 2022.

It continues to champion Adelaide’s fashion, business and creative sectors by giving designers, retailers, venues and other contributors an opportunity to connect with new audiences.

The South Australian Fashion Industry Association (SAFIA) will partner with ADL Fashion Week this year, providing an industry advisory role to retailers, designers and brands.

Local business owners across South Australia are invited to participate in ADL Fashion Week by applying to host an Associated Event in the city or North Adelaide.

They can showcase their creativity through new events, product launches, collaborative experiences or unique activations to highlight the city’s vibrant fashion scene.

Associated Event organisers are able to generate revenue for their business through ticket sales.

Events must lead with a creative and fashion focus and can include designer-led fashion experiences, intimate culinary experiences, music, arts, hands-on workshops, runway shows, and much more.

They must also be independently hosted, form part of the broader ADL Fashion Week program and offer something exclusive to the five-day festival.

Applicants will need to select a marketing support package, which will provide promotional benefits and guidance, as part of its submission.

AEDA Executive Manager, Marketing and Tourism Michael Rossi says 2025 will be a landmark year for the festival.

“We’ve grown the festival into a powerful platform for industry growth, creative expression and city vibrancy by delivering five days of fashion, innovation and opportunity,” Mr Rossi says.

“ADL Fashion Week is iconically Adelaide and proudly for the world.

"With Associated Events, runways, talks and workshops, it is a full celebration of Adelaide as the festival city.”

ADL Fashion Week's partnership with SAFIA, coupled with an extended event duration, marks a pivotal evolution for the festival.

SAFIA Board Chair Dr Nathan Crane says ADL Fashion Week is a vital platform for highlighting the strengths of South Australia's fashion industry.

“It gives designers and makers the opportunity to be seen, to grow, and to connect with audiences in meaningful ways,” Dr Crane says.

“We’re excited to see this partnership reach new heights and authentically showcase the talent of in our state.”

Last year marked ADL Fashion Week’s most successful iteration, with more than 40 events and activations, 2,200 ticketed event sales and a third of all events centered around sustainability.

AEDA figures also showed a 275 per cent lift in the average daily spend, per customer, in Rundle Mall.

It also included the new fashion hub for the festival, The Loft at Hotel Richmond in Rundle Mall, which featured local and interstate brand showcases.

Melbourne-based designers Effie Kats and Lana Wilkinson visited Adelaide for the first time to present their Australian-made, ready-to-wear collections.
