AEDA Announces New Board Member

The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) is pleased to announce the successful appointment of Jim Kouts as a Board Member, commencing 18 January 2024.

Jim brings extensive experience as a professional director and corporate advisor, with a background in external affairs and organisational positioning gained across both private and public sectors. Notably, he served as the Head of Corporate Affairs in Australia for a global publicly listed energy business for 18 years.

In addition, Jim Kouts presently serves as the Chair of HomeStart and occupies various non-executive director and senior advisory roles.

The Chair of the AEDA Board, Nikki Govan, expresses, "The Board is enthusiastic about harnessing Jim's expertise in commercial decision-making, his adeptness in fostering and sustaining interpersonal relationships, and capacity to provide a clear strategic focus. His expertise will be a valuable addition to AEDA’s skills-based Board."

Mr. Kouts takes on the role as Board Member, succeeding business leader Manuel Ortigosa at the conclusion of his term. Govan adds, "I extend my gratitude to Manuel for his invaluable contributions to the Board, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in the business sector and executive government positions."

This appointment follows the recent announcement of Nikki Govan’s reappointment as Board Chair for another year, with current Deputy Chair Steve Maras set to transition into this role in succession for two years.
