Last updated 23 Apr, 2025

Hollywood comes to the 2025 Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) Business Summit, with an Australian visual effects (VFX) expert set to delve into the thriving sector and how the city brings blockbuster magic to life.

Rising Sun Pictures President Jennie Zeiher (pictured above) is one of three keynote speakers at the Summit that will be held at the Adelaide Oval on 20 May 2025.

Flinders Street-based Rising Sun Pictures has contributed to films including Sonic 3, Deadpool & Wolverine and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, as well as local campaigns such as RAA’s Trev the bee.

Ms Zeiher says Rising Sun Pictures is a South Australian success story and looks forward to sharing Adelaide’s role in the future of VFX both in the city and globally.

“I’m thrilled to bring a little bit of Hollywood to the AEDA Business Summit,” Ms Zeiher says.

“Explore the story of Rising Sun Pictures, from its humble beginnings at the Rising Sun Inn in Kensington to its rise as a global visual effects powerhouse, partnering with major studios like Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros., and Netflix."

The AEDA Business Summit brings together Australia’s brightest business minds to share bold ideas, game-changing strategies, and transformative perspectives through powerful keynotes and dynamic panels.

A high-profile line up of speakers and panellists will delve into the current state of Adelaide’s business and tourism sectors, while giving expert predictions about economic opportunity.

Speakers at the event, from across the state and Australia, include The Honourable Peter Malinauskas MP, Premier of South Australia, CMAX Clinical Research Chief Executive Jane Kelly and South Australian Productivity Commission Chair Adrian Tembel.

Ms Zeiher joins two other keynote speakers — The Demographics Group Co-Founder Simon Kuestenmacher and REMIX Summits Co-Founder Peter Tullin.

AEDA Chair Steve Maras says the AEDA Business Summit will provide exciting perspectives about the city, now and into the future.

“From discussions about Adelaide’s business and visitor economy sectors to discussions about how Adelaide is performing in in-demand industries like VFX, the AEDA Business Summit offers invaluable insights into the city’s current strengths and its trajectory for the future,” Mr Maras says.

“It’s a unique opportunity to explore how Adelaide is positioning itself on the world stage as a hub for innovation, investment, and creative talent."
