The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) has announced that General Manager Greg Ratsch will step down from his role and will conclude his tenure with the organisation on 25 September 2026.
AEDA Board Chair Steve Maras thanked Mr Ratsch for his significant contribution to AEDA and the City of Adelaide.
"While we are naturally disappointed to see Greg leave, we are pleased for him as he takes the opportunity to travel and recharge following a distinguished career in economic development and local government leadership," Mr Maras said.
Greg joined AEDA in May 2021 initially leading its Business and Investment team before accepting the role to head up the Agency.
During his time with AEDA, Mr Ratsch played a significant role in supporting Adelaide's economic growth and revitalisation, including:
- Supporting Adelaide's post-COVID economic recovery efforts.
- Working with businesses to establish and invest in the city through AEDA's investment attraction and business support programs.
- Implementing Rundle Mall's Place Vision and helping lay the foundations for the Mall's 50th anniversary celebrations.
- Leading strategic marketing and visitor economy initiatives and strengthening AEDA's data and insights capability.
Reflecting on his time with the agency, Mr Ratsch said one of the highlights of his role had been working alongside the AEDA Board and team.
"It has been a privilege to work with such a passionate and committed Board, whose ambition for Adelaide's future is both inspiring and practical," Mr Ratsch said.
"I am particularly grateful to Chair Steve Maras, the former Chair Nicki Govan, and the AEDA Executive team for their leadership and support.
"I am also incredibly proud of the broader AEDA team. Their professionalism, expertise and dedication to delivering meaningful outcomes for Adelaide have been outstanding, and it has been a privilege to lead such a talented group of people."
Mr Maras said Mr Ratsch had provided steady leadership during a significant period in AEDA's development.
"Greg has helped position AEDA for continued success through his strategic leadership, strong governance focus and commitment to creating economic opportunities for Adelaide," he said.
"On behalf of the Board and the City of Adelaide, I thank Greg for his contribution and wish him and his family every success and happiness in the future."
Arrangements regarding interim leadership and the recruitment of a new General Manager have now been communicated.
