Shop until you need to bag drop in Rundle Mall thanks to the Adelaide Economic Development Agency’s new Black Friday concierge service.
Rundle Mall is gearing up for its longest day of Black Friday trading, which includes its first ever complimentary bag drop at the Gawler Place Canopy to help shoppers move hands free between stores to snap up bargains.
There will also be a chauffeured buggy available to ferry shoppers from store to store, or even take their back to their parked cars in the precinct.
It comes as shoppers Australia-wide prepare to spend $6.2 billion during the Black Friday sales, up $200 million on 2021 figures, according to the Australian Retailers Association.
Adelaide Economic Development Agency Rundle Mall Executive Manager expects savvy South Australians to be out in “full force”, particularly on Friday’s 16-hour trading day.
“A quarter of Christmas shopping is expected to be completed in the Black Friday sales with shoppers predicted to spend an average of $375 each across Black Friday and the weekend,” Mr White says.

The Rundle Mall Cocktail Lounge will pop up near the Pigeon sculpture and will have cocktails and mocktails available, coupled with DJs spinning tunes to add more fun to the shopping experience.
The first 100 shoppers to use the concierge service will receive a complimentary drink from the lounge, however, drink discounts will be on offer to every shopper using the bag drop facility.

Black Friday is expected to be the state’s biggest pre-Christmas sales event.
Black Friday began in the United States and, over the past five years, has quickly grown in popularity locally.
The Mall will trade from 8am until midnight on Friday 25 November and 9am-5pm on the weekend.
