More than 433,000 tourists will make waves in Adelaide as the state welcomes cruise ships back for the first time since June 2025.
Between 18 October 2025 and 14 May 2026, Port Adelaide’s Outer Harbor will welcome 28 cruise ships, including eight making their inaugural calls to Adelaide.
The largest group of tourists will visit Adelaide aboard the Discovery Princess on Thursday, 5 March, with 3600 passengers set to disembark.
The Celebrity Edge is scheduled to arrive in Adelaide on 16 April 2026, bringing 3,500 passengers to the city.
The Crown Princess will also visit Adelaide at multiple intervals before the close of the season, each time with 3,080 passengers on board.
Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) Tourism Industry Development Advisor Gemma Nelson says the recommencement of the cruise season is a chance to showcase everything on offer in the city.
“Cruise season is back and with it comes a vibrant wave of energy flowing into Adelaide’s streets, laneways, and iconic destinations—it is a chance for the city to show why it is one of the best places to be,” Ms Nelson says.
“From first-time arrivals to return visitors, I look forward to seeing hundreds and thousands of people discover everything on offer in the city.”
How City Businesses Can Take Advantage of the Cruise Season
Ms Nelson says the return of the cruise season is a chance for local businesses and tourism operators to showcase products to the world.
There are many ways businesses can take advantage of the extra foot traffic over the next six months when more tourists are stopping in town.
“Cruise ship arrivals are a great opportunity for local businesses to create a lasting first impression,” Ms Nelson says.
"This year, as part of an AEDA strategy to encourage dispersal and visitation to the city, there will be a pilot initiative that includes 10 select Rundle Mall retailers.
"They have created exclusive offers and value adds for cruise tourists as an extension of Adelaide’s welcoming initiatives."
She says cruise passengers can visit AEDA websites like ExperienceAdelaide.com.au, or chat to dedicated volunteers to help with their stay in the city.
