The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) has released its first post-pandemic prospectus — Invest Adelaide — which showcases the benefits of doing business in the city.

The prospectus, launched at the AEDA Business Summit on May 24 at Adelaide Oval, looks into sectors such as property, retail, tech, education, creative industries, defence and space and how potential investors, in both South Australia and abroad, can take advantage of what the city can offer.

It was produced in consultation with experts across public and private sectors.

“Invest Adelaide provides insights into the progression and opportunities for a city that isn’t just embracing change but leading it,” AEDA Board Chair Nikki Govan told delegates at the 2023 AEDA Business Summit.

“It highlights building momentum, sectors of growth, competitive advantages, connectivity and livability in the city.”

According to data sourced and evaluated by AEDA, in 2023:

  • The city’s economy grew to $21.9 billion.
  • There were approximately 315,000 daily visitors.
  • There was $1.6 billion city retail spend.
  • There was $6 billion in visitor expenditure.

Ms Govan said Adelaide offered a wealth of opportunities for local, interstate and international investors.

“We are asking people who are thinking about expanding, relocating or launching their business to think Adelaide,” Ms Govan said.

“It’s one of the world’s most livable cities. A city of innovation and connectivity and provides an ideal environment for collaboration and success.”
