Festival season brings record foot traffic for the East End

The city’s East End experienced its biggest weekend since the COVID-19 pandemic, with new Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) data revealing approximately 249,700 visitors to the precinct between 7-10 March 2025. The data highlights a significant surge in foot traffic, with this year’s numbers showing a 52 per cent increase in comparison to the same weekend in 2024.

AEDA appoints three new members to its advisory committee

AEDA has appointed three new members to its Advisory Committee to further amplify efforts to support city businesses, main streets, and precincts.

Fashion stylist and producer Mirella Romano will serve for two years on the Advisory Committee, while CYBR Chief Executive Jasmin Ilic and CareWindow National Sales Manager Alfredo Cabada each secured a three-year term.

The Committee, spearheaded by McGees Property Sales and Leasing Associate Director Tim Pozza, provides valuable guidance to the AEDA Board.

The South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) has launched its free platform to help local visual artists find suitable venues for exhibiting their work, and vice versa, during the event, which runs throughout August. Users can create an artist or venue profile so their artwork/display space is discoverable to others. The noticeboard will close midnight on Monday, 28 April 2025.

Unlock AEDA sponsorship for events across the city

Indonesian festival

Not-for-profit organisations can apply for AEDA sponsorship to assist in the staging of medium and major projects between 1 July 2025 and 30 July 2028. The Events and Sponsorship Program aims to support events that contribute to a vibrant and dynamic city experience, drive visitation and spend, and support local businesses. Funding may be provided for up to three years. Applications close 12am ACST Monday, 21 April 2025.
