The “backbone” of Coffylosophy Owner Sneha Chaudhary’s successful city café can be attributed to support provided by Business SA and the Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA).
For years, Ms Chaudhary has been involved in the Business Growth Consulting program, run by Business SA and supported by AEDA, that bolstered her business in areas such as promotion, wellness, digital and social activities.
“(The program) provided us with faith, was pretty cohesive … (and was) like a backbone for small businesses in general,” Ms Chaudhary says.
“The content created (as part of the program) really helped get word out (about us) and people were talking about us and what we do.”
Coffylosophy, on Hutt Street, is an award-winning café that serves food and drink including coffee, sandwiches, salads, burgers, super-foods and sweet treats.
The business had its beginnings back in March 2014 following Ms Chaudhary’s determination to serve customers with the finest coffee blends.
“The Business Growth Consulting program has been a real conversation starter," Ms Chaudhary says.
“We take our baristas very seriously because they know how to take a really good cup of coffee,” Ms Chaudhary says.
“Our food has a slight South American taste, fused with an Australian breakfast style.
“Our menu was designed by a South American back in the day and we just try to keep it slightly changing with current trends.”
Residents and workers alike are regular customers at the cafe that took out a The City Award in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when many small stores were shutting their doors permanently.
Ms Chaudhary says support from Business SA and AEDA has been second to none, embracing all the opportunities thrown at them.
“The Business Growth Consulting program has been a real conversation starter.”
“It has been very rewarding for us,” Ms Chaudhary says.
Business SA, supported by AEDA, has a range of professional and support services available for city businesses until 31 December.
