New Advisory Committee appointments to drive city growth
The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA) has appointed three leading Adelaide businesspeople – Angela Maglieri, Paula Mifsud and James Black – to its Advisory Committee.
SA Water Engagement Manager Angela Maglieri has commenced her position on the Committee, while University of Adelaide Corporate and Government Relations Director Paula Mifsud will join on 1 November 2025.
Perks Accountants and Wealth Advisers Chief Executive James Black has been reappointed to the Advisory Committee.
The trio, as part of their involvement in the Committee, will provide a formal mechanism for city businesses, mainstreets, precincts, and other stakeholders to advise the AEDA Board.

AEDA Chair Steve Maras says the appointments reflect a high level of professional expertise and a shared commitment to elevating the city's national and international profile.
“Ms Maglieri, Ms Mifsud and Mr Black are all highly accomplished professionals who bring expertise in their respective fields and a genuine passion for Adelaide,” Mr Maras says.
“Their collective experience across sectors such as business, government relations and communications will be invaluable as AEDA continues to drive initiatives that enhance Adelaide’s reputation as a dynamic, innovative, and globally competitive city.
“The Board looks forward to the trio’s contribution to the city.”
Ms Maglieri’s appointment will end on 12 February 2027, while Ms Mifsud and Mr Black will remain on the Committee until 12 February 2028.

Ms Maglieri has held senior leadership positions in both the private and public sectors, playing an instrumental role in driving inward investment and commercial expansion.
She has worked at MinterEllison, the Property Council of Australia, the Australian Institute of Management in Adelaide, and the Government of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development.

Ms Mifsud brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience in local and state government, not-for-profit, and higher education sectors.
She has expertise in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, government relations, economic development, and investment attraction.
She has held positions at RAA, ReturnToWork SA, the City of Adelaide and the Department of Trade and Investment in South Australia.
She cares deeply about Adelaide's future as a place to do business and as a city that connects creativity, innovation and inclusion.

Back in Black: Reappointment to the Committee

Mr Black was first appointed to the Committee in November 2023, bringing a unique skillset gained in senior executive, board and committee roles.
