Tasting Australia's Town Square Brings Record Attendees To The City
A record number of attendees enjoyed the lively atmosphere of Tasting Australia's Town Square. The festival hub, based in Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga, welcomed over 77,000 visitors over the 10 days and showcased a wide range of food vendors, tasting masterclasses, long lunches and exclusive events. With warm temperatures extending well into May, the balmy autumn weather provided a perfect backdrop for the culinary festival, with festivalgoers making the most of the good weather.
The event boasted record success this year thanks to more than 260 local South Australian producers, wineries, distillers, bars and operators taking part in the festival. Hon Zoe Bettison MP stated "The success of this festival also highlights the strength of audience appetite for authentic eating and drinking experiences in South Australia and drives year-round demand for all our state offers. [Our] blockbuster events calendar continues to set the bar, helping both strengthen our reputation as a must-see destination and make an important contribution to our state's visitor economy."
Tasting Australia, presented by RAA Travel brings the best of South Australia's food and wine industry into the spotlight and strengthens the state's position as a world-class culinary destination. The success of this year's event further solidifies Adelaide and South Australia as a must-visit tourism destination on the global stage.
