Driving Conference Opportunities for Adelaide at This Year’s Destination SA Showcase

Last updated 28 Apr, 2026

Members from the Visitor Economy team proudly represented the Adelaide Economic Agency (AEDA) at the recent Destination SA (DSA) showcase, hosted by Business Events Adelaide (BEA) in March.

As an AEDA Strategic Partner, BEA plays a key role in elevating Adelaide’s global profile in business events sectors. Its flagship initiatives align with South Australia’s priority growth sectors, attracting high value conferences and increasing international visibility through popular programs such as Connect Adelaide and Destination SA.

This year’s showcase welcomed leading business event planners, decision-makers and media to Adelaide, offering a firsthand experience of the city’s world‑class venues, hospitality and event capabilities.

Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, across 3 days, the program brought together 35 high-value delegates to explore the diversity of Adelaide’s offering.

A highlight of the program was the Destination SA Business Exchange, where representatives from BEA and AEDA engaged directly with conference organisers and industry leaders from across Australia.

These conversations provided a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how AEDA supports events at every stage. AEDA has developed a strategic suite of materials, including city activation opportunities, designed to help organisers immerse delegates in the city from the moment they arrive and pre-event assets designed to encourage the visitor consider extending their stay or explore the city.

Complementing these efforts is the expanded Exclusive Offers program, which serves as a key value-add for organisers. By connecting delegates with curated retail and hospitality deals, the program enhances the overall visitor experience while driving direct economic benefits back into our local business community.

Throughout the showcase there was strong interest and enthusiasm in Adelaide as a host city for major business events, with attendees recognising the city’s unique capabilities and international appeal.

As South Australia's reputation as a leading business events destination continues to grow, strategic partnerships with organisations like Business Events Adelaide ensure the city remains competitive, connected, and well positioned to attract international investment.

Following the success of last year’s event, which secured more than $36 million in future business, expectations are high for similar results in 2026 – further highlighting Adelaide’s strong position as a desirable destination for conferences and business events.
