Simon Ming Puts North Adelaide In Spotlight, Named Finalist In Gourmet Traveller Best New Talent Award

Gourmet Traveller has unveiled the finalists for its esteemed 2025 Annual Restaurant Awards with North Adelaide’s ODÉ Bistro head chef, Simon Ming named in the Best New Talent category.

Each year Gourmet Traveller celebrates the best and brightest in Australian dining with the Gourmet Traveller Annual Restaurant Awards. The city is no stranger to these awards with Restaurant Botanic achieving the prestigious Restaurant of the Year Award in 2022. 

Rising star, Simon Ming has transitioned from petroleum engineering to culinary arts as the esteemed chef of ODÉ Bistro, which opened in January 2024.

His exceptional skills have garnered acclaim, notably as a finalist in the prestigious Best New Talent category, which recognises emerging chefs or restaurateurs who have made a significant impact in the culinary world, often creating memorable dining experiences or pushing boundaries in cuisine.

The winners will be revealed at a gala event in Sydney on 19 August 2024.
