Upgrade of iconic Myer Centre Facade

Last updated 06 Apr, 2023

Rundle Mall icon the Myer Centre — home of brands including Myer, UNIQLO and Lush — is set for a sleek new look as part of a major renovation of its façade.

The redevelopment of the building will focus on improving the safety and functionality of the existing building, which officially opened in 1991 at a cost of $570 million.

Construction is expected to commence in early April with completion scheduled for later in the year.

A Myer Centre spokesperson said the upgrade would enhance customers’ shopping experience.

“Our team has been hard at work planning and designing this upgrade to make sure it's the best possible update for our shoppers,” the spokesperson said.

“The new façade will be modern, sleek, and visually attractive that stands out along Rundle Mall.

"We're committed to providing a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for all our customers, and this upgrade is just one way we're fulfilling that promise.”

The announcement comes as Rundle Place announced it would extend its offering even further, with a multi-million entertainment and dining complex planned for the former Harris Scarfe site.

Funlab announced its plan to redevelop more than 2,200sq m of space at the former Harris Scarfe site where it will offer Strike Bowling, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq games arcade, and an immersive interactive game experience not unlike an escape room called Hijinx Hotel.
